The Commission undertakes a range of engagement activities that aim to encourage more productive workplaces by promoting harmonious and cooperative workplace relations.

Briefings & information sessions
The Commission can provide briefings and information sessions to interested groups, such as school and university students, union delegates, employer representatives and human resource professionals.
Briefings and information sessions focus on the role, functions and history of the Commission to assist people who use the Commission's services or who are studying Australia’s workplace relations system. Where possible, visitors can also observe hearings and be addressed by a Commission Member.
Briefings and information sessions can be arranged in any Australian state and territory capital city.

Workplace Relations Education Series
The Workplace Relations Education Series features:
- mock hearings presided over by Members of the Commission, with the merits of mock cases argued by leading workplace relations practitioners
- lectures featuring presentations on a range of workplace relations topics by local and international experts
- an invited papers series featuring papers on relevant workplace relations issues.

Commission Members deliver speeches at a range of workplace relations conferences and events. Copies of many previous presentations are on the Speeches page.

The Fair Work Commission engages closely with similar bodies in North America, the United Kingdom, Africa and the Asia and Pacific region. Commission Members can provide assistance and training to overseas bodies to support the development of local institutions.
Stakeholder user groups
The Fair Work Commission has established user groups to facilitate an exchange of views and provide a two-way communication forum between the Commission and key stakeholders.
