25. TERMINATION OF EMPLOYMENT

25.1 During the first three months of employment in any agency, employment shall be from week to week.

25.2 After three months continuous service, employment may be terminated by the employee by the giving of 14 days notice by the employee at any time during the week or by payment or forfeiture of 14 days salary, as the case may be.

25.3 Nothing in this clause shall prevent the summary dismissal of an employee for misconduct.

25.4 Except for misconduct justifying summary dismissal, the services of an employee shall be terminated by an employer only by notice as prescribed by the following:

More than 1 but not more than 3

at least two weeks

More than 3 but not more than 5

at least three weeks

More than 5

at least four weeks

Where an employee is over 45 years of age they shall receive, in addition to the above table, one week's extra notice, provided the employee has had two years service.
