SCHEDULE 4 - FAMILY SUPPORT WORKERS AND EMPLOYEES ENGAGED UNDER THE HOMEMAKER PROGRAMMES

CLAUSE S4.1 TITLE
This Schedule will be referred to as the Family Support Workers and Employees Engaged under the Homemaker Programmes Schedule. The terms and conditions of this Schedule are specific to the work function performed by employees bound by this Schedule.

CLAUSE S4.3 SCOPE AND PERSONS BOUND
This Schedule will apply to the conditions of employment of persons employed as Family Support Workers and Employees engaged under the Homemaker Programmes.
This Schedule must be read in conjunction with the remainder of the Social and Community Services Interim Award and will prevail over the Award to the extent of any inconsistency.
CLAUSE S4.4 PART-TIME EMPLOYEES
Part-time employee means an employee, other than a casual employee, who is engaged to work regularly for an average of 15 ordinary hours or more per week, but less than an average of 38 ordinary hours per week.
There will be no minimum hours of duty for a part-time employee.
CLAUSE S4.5 CASUAL EMPLOYEE
Casual employee means an employee engaged to work either:
(a) for less than an average of 15 weeks; or
(b) where the employees ordinary hours are varied from week to week, provided that a person employed on a casual basis for more than 15 hours and up to and including 38 hours per week, must not be engaged for any continuous period exceeding 13 weeks.
An employee engaged on a casual basis must be paid for a minimum period of 2 hours for each engagement.
CLAUSE S4.6 ROSTERED HOURS OF WORK
Subject to agreement with the employer, the ordinary rostered hours of work of employees will be determined by an employee in consultation with client(s). However, an employee must not be required to work their ordinary rostered hours of work outside of Monday to Friday, inclusive.
CLAUSE S4.7 HOURS OF WORK
The ordinary working hours of all employees must be aggregated and averaged over a work cycle not exceeding 42 consecutive days.
CLAUSE S4.8 PAYMENT FOR OVERTIME
There will be no minimum payment for overtime worked. Where there is a requirement for an employee to work extraordinary overtime then such extraordinary overtime will accrue at the rate of ordinary time plus the appropriate overtime penalty and such overtime will be taken as time off in lieu in accordance with the provisions of this Award. Extraordinary overtime is defined as overtime which is not planned for or envisaged by either the employer or employee.
CLAUSE S4.9 WORK OUTSIDE OF THE ORDINARY HOURS OF DUTY
Where an employee requests and the employer agrees, an employee may perform work deemed as ordinary working hours outside of the span of hours of from 8.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m., Monday to Friday inclusive. Such hours of work will not attract overtime payments.
CLAUSE S4.10 PUBLIC HOLIDAYS
An employee must not roster him/herself for duty on a public holiday unless specific approval has been sought and granted by the employer. Where an employer gives approval for an employee to attend for duty on a public holiday, the appropriate public holiday penalties will apply.
CLAUSE S4.11 SATURDAY AND SUNDAY WORK
Where an employee is required to attend for duty on a Saturday or Sunday, due to the requirements of the work programme, the employee will be paid for work done during ordinary hours between midnight Friday and midnight Sunday, an additional payment calculated at the rate of 50 per centum of the ordinary rate for the actual hours worked. The additional payment will be taken as time off in lieu of overtime by the employee.
