(1) Where an employee who has commenced a shift cannot carry out that employee's ordinary duties due to inclement weather the employer shall, notwithstanding the conditions of Clause 17. - Full Payment of Shift of this Award, endeavour to provide the employee with alternative work within that employee's competence, provided that the employee shall nevertheless be paid for the balance of that shift.
(2) An employee who is otherwise stood down without pay may instead elect to take paid leisure day entitlements then standing to that employee's credit.
