14. - COMPASSIONATE LEAVE

In the event of the death of an employee's spouse, child, parent, brother or sister (including in laws), de facto spouse, step child, parent-in-law, grandparents or foster parent, and upon production of satisfactory proof of such death, the employee shall be entitled to a maximum of two days' leave at the ordinary rate of pay, provided that such leave shall be extended to cover the balance of the shift without loss of pay if the employee receives notification of the death when at work.

Subject to the agreement of the Manager or in the event of dispute by order of the Tribunal, an employee absent from work because of pressing domestic need shall be deemed to be entitled to leave up to one day at the ordinary rate of pay.
