AP772288 - CSIRO (Salaries and Conditions of Service) Award 1999

6. DEFINITIONS

6.1 For the purposes of this award:

‘The Act’ means the Science and Industry Research Act 1949 as amended.

‘AIRC’ means the Australian Industrial Relations Commission.

‘Chief’ means the head of an organisational unit who reports to the Chief Executive or an immediate deputy of the Chief Executive.

‘Classification’ means one of the nine levels set out in clause 13 of this award.

‘CSIRO’ means the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation.

‘Division’ means a research unit of CSIRO headed by a Chief.

‘Employee’ means any person appointed by the employer under the Act.

‘Employer’ means CSIRO.

‘Union’ means a party to this award, registered under Part IX of the Workplace Relations Act 1996, as amended.
