12. RATES OF PAY
12.1 Classifications and rates of pay: Employees performing work within the classifications listed in Table 1 will be paid an annual salary at no less than the minimum rate adjacent to the relevant classification as set out in the Table.
12.1.1 The minimum rates of pay in this Award include the arbitrated safety net adjustment payable under the April 1997 and April 1998 Safety Net Review - Wages decisions [Prints P1997 and Q1998].

12.1.2 Where an employee was appointed immediately prior to 8 November 2000 that employee may be eligible for a higher rate, in accordance with Schedule A of the award.

12.2 Cadets – Full-time study
12.2.1 Adult rates: An adult employee who is employed as a cadet, will be paid an annual salary of $12,644 during periods of full-time study.
12.3 Fortnightly pay: Unless otherwise agreed with the individual, employees shall be paid fortnightly in accordance with the following formula:
