27. BEREAVEMENT AND PERSONAL LEAVE

27.1 Bereavement leave: CSIRO may grant leave of absence with pay for a period not exceeding 3 days on the occasion of the death of a spouse, parent, parent-in-law, parent of de-facto spouse, grandparent, brother, sister or child of an employee. Such leave shall be independent of any leave granted under 27.2.

27.2 Personal leave: CSIRO may grant personal leave of absence with pay to meet unexpected family and personal crises.

Personal leave accrues from commencement at the rate of 3 days per year of service. The maximum credit which may be carried over from one year to the next is 6 days. The maximum available credit in any year of service is 9 days.
