SCHEDULE 1 - LP GAS TANKER DRIVERS
The following provisions of this Schedule will apply to S.A. Gas Distributors Pty. Ltd. and employees classified in Group 5, Clause 5.2 of the award herein.
1. LONG DISTANCE DRIVER CONDITIONS
1.1 For the purposes of this Schedule long distance driving means all journeys and/or driving distances exceeding 250 (lead) kilometres, calculated from the employee’s home base.
1.2 The employer, in consultation with the union and the affected employees will make up a roster that provides that an employee will not work nor be required by the employer to work more than a total of 120 hours in any fortnight exclusive of any unpaid intervals for meals and the employee will not work in any one day more than 15 hours, with a break of at least half an hour each five hours worked and that every employee will have 8 hours off duty immediately their working period is completed. This clause will not apply where the employee has been delayed because of accidents or in circumstances where the employer has no control.
1.3 Rosters may be altered where there is agreement of all parties which includes the union, employees and the employer. There will be 48 hours notice of such alteration to the employee by the employer.
1.4 The weekly rate of pay will be as set out in clause 5.2 Group 5 of this award.

1.5 An employee will be paid an overnight allowance of $21.00 if unable to return to base. If accommodation is paid for by the employer the allowance is not payable.
1.6 When the employee is engaged on loading and, for bulk drop vehicles only, unloading duties, the first eight hours of any operation will be paid on an hourly basis, calculated by, dividing the weekly rate in clause 5.2 Group 5, by thirty-eight. All loading and unloading duties performed in excess of eight hours on any operation will be paid for at the rate of time and one-half.

1.7 An employee will be entitled to an allowance of $3.69 per drop when on long distance work.
1.8 An employee will be entitled to a guaranteed minimum fortnightly payment which will be twice the weekly rate set out in clause 5.2 Group 5 of this award, for the classification under which the employee is working.
1.9 An employee will be entitled to all other conditions and allowances contained in this award where applicable.

1.10 Rates of pay for Long Distance Driving are as follows -

2. Other Tanker Drivers
2.1 All work outside the normal spread of hours and/or the standard weekly hours will be paid for at the rate of 1 1/2 times the ordinary rate. This provision will also apply to work performed on Saturday, Sunday and public holidays as prescribed by the award.
2.1 In lieu of the payment prescribed in clause 2.1
2.2.1 An employee may be granted at their option ordinary time off at the ordinary rate of pay for the number of hours of overtime or special time worked.
2.2.2 By agreement between the employer and the employee overtime rates of pay will not apply until 38 hours have been worked in any weekly period.
2.3.1 An employee may be engaged on shift-work where such work extends over a period of two consecutive weeks.
2.3.2 An employee engaged on such work (other than day work) will be paid a shift work premium of 15% based on the ordinary weekly rate of pay.

2.4 An employee who drives a double articulated vehicle will be paid an allowance of $13.43 per week in addition to their ordinary weekly wage.
This allowance will not be taken into account in the calculation of any penalty rates by this award.
3. Sick Leave Bonus Payment
3.1 An employee will accrue sick leave subject to terms and conditions as detailed in clause 7.2(c) of this award.
3.2 The employer will pay to the employee a pro-rata of sick leave accrued less number of sick leave days taken in the previous twelve months. The pro-rata payment will be a maximum of 10 days sick leave and will be deducted from the employee's accrued sick leave.
