14. CLAIMS

(a) Any claim for long service leave shall be lodged by an employee with the Employer's Representative at the employee's port of registration.

(b) If the claim is contested by the Employers' Representative, the employee or the Union on behalf of the employee, may refer it to the Committee which shall have power to allow or approve the claim, to fix any period or amount and to determine and deal with the claim in the manner and subject to the conditions specified in this award or to do any of such things.

(c) If the claim is accepted by the Employers' Representative any respondent bound by this award or the Company may refer it to the Committee which shall have power to allow or approve the claim to fix any period or amount and to determine and deal with the claim in the manner and subject to the conditions specified in this award or to do any of such things.

(d) Where the Committee has exercised its power of allowing approving, fixing or determining matters with respect to any claim the employee, the Union on behalf of the employee, any employer respondent bound by this award and the Company shall each have the right to appeal to the Australian Industrial Relations Commission.
