14.1.11 The wage relativity shall be applied against the base rate for the Electrical Worker Grade 5.

14.2 Classification/reclassification

In order to assist in the classification or reclassification of employees, the following shall apply:

14.2.1 Where the employee has the relevant qualification recognised as a minimum training requirement for the level at which the employee seeks to be classified and;

The employee shall be classified appropriately.

14.2.2 Where skill standards have not yet been finalised in respect of any class of work, and this is necessary for determining an employee’s classification, employees performing such work shall not be reclassified until such standards are available, except as provided for in 14.2.3 and 14.2.4 hereof.

Where the situation described in 14.2.2 hereof applies, but not under any other circumstances, an employee may be reclassified on the basis that the employee meets the requirements of the classification definitions prescribed in Schedule B (Old Definitions) of this award. The old classifications are aligned with the new classifications in clause 15 of this award.

14.2.4 In the Australian Capital Territory only

14.2.4(a) Higher grade work

Where an employee is called upon to do work for which a higher rate is fixed, for a period up to two hours upon any one day, the employee shall be paid the higher rate whilst so engaged, and if for more than two hours upon any one day, the employee shall be paid the higher rate for the whole of that day.
