19.1 Employers’ superannuation obligations
19.1.1 Employers bound by this award shall contribute to an approved industry superannuation fund in respect of each employee such contributions as required to comply with the Superannuation Guarantee (Administration) Act 1992 and the Superannuation Guarantee Charge Act 1992 as amended from time to time or such contributions as agreed from time to time by the CEPU and NECA.

19.1.2 Contributions to comply with the Superannuation Guarantee legislation are calculated as a percentage of ordinary time earnings on behalf of each eligible employee as follows:

19.1.3 ‘Ordinary time earnings’ means the actual ordinary rate of pay the employee receives for ordinary hours worked including:
The term includes any regular overaward pay as well as casual rates received for ordinary hours of work. All other allowances and payments are excluded. [Note: for the purposes of this subclause “ordinary hours of work” includes ordinary hours of shiftwork where applicable].”
19.2 Employees to sign application form for superannuation
Employees shall upon commencement of employment complete and submit the signed application form for membership of the approved superannuation scheme to which the employer contributes.
19.3 Superannuation definitions
For the purposes of this award approved industry superannuation scheme is the nominated industry superannuation scheme CONNECT (and NESS in the Australian Capital Territory) or the superannuation scheme for which exemption from the industry superannuation scheme has been granted by its Trustee.
19.4 Superannuation agreements to apply
Where applicable the terms and conditions governing the implementation of superannuation and its continued operation shall be as provided in the Superannuation Agreement between the parties to this award, including the following:

19.4.2 In South Australia
The terms and conditions governing the implementation of superannuation and its continued operation shall be as provided in the agreement titled Electrical Contracting - South Australia Superannuation Agreement dated May 1990.
