15. FIRE FIGHTING PROVISIONS

Unless otherwise agreed in accordance with clause 11 - Consultative mechanisms and procedures in the workplace, the following provisions shall apply to employees required by the employer to perform fire fighting duties:

15.1 An employee shall retain the classification upon which the employee was employed immediately prior to the outbreak of a bushfire.

15.2 Payment of wages, allowances and all provisions shall be as if the employee worked within the normal workplace.

15.3 Travelling time to and from a bushfire from the normal place of employment shall be included as time worked.

15.4 Time worked shall be calculated from the time the employee leaves the normal place of work to proceed to a bushfire to when the employee returns to the normal workplace including paid meal breaks.

15.5 The employer shall reimburse an employee the cost of any meals whilst an employee is engaged in bushfire activities pursuant to this clause. This subclause shall not apply where the employer provides meals to an employee engaged in bushfire fighting duties.
