AP814640 - Launceston City Council Award 2002
11.1 Employees will generally be appointed at the commencing level of a band. Annual pay rates will be reviewed when employees change positions.
11.2 Employees will have their salary/wage reviewed by the end of April in each year and will be eligible to move within their grades if they meet 11.2.1 and 11.2.2 plus one other criterion from 11.2.3:
11.2.1 Performance objectives, as set out in the Employee Feedback and Development System, have been met.
11.2.2 Are reliable, co-operative and have a good attendance record – if management considers an employee does not meet this criterion the employee will be informed and given the opportunity to rectify the problem. The review date can be deferred in those circumstances to allow for the employee to demonstrate improved behaviour. If the problem reoccurs this criterion is not met.
11.2.3 Criteria
11.2.3(a) Additional quantified workload is permanently undertaken;
11.2.3(b) Additional responsibilities are accepted;
11.2.3(c) Improved skills, acquired through training, education or experience, are being utilised on the job;

11.3 Adjustments arising from the review will be paid as from 1st July next after the review date.
11.4 There is no automatic entitlement to increments within the grades.
11.5 If a position's duties are changed significantly the employee can request that the position be evaluated under Council's internal evaluation process. This process is required to support reclassifications. If the evaluation process supports a salary change the employee's level of pay will be adjusted at that time.
11.6 Employees will be notified in writing by personnel if their salary/wage is to be altered as a result of a review process.
11.7 The dispute settling procedure will be used to resolve any disagreements over employee's salary/wage levels.
