25.1 Subject to 25.2 the employer may require an employee to work reasonable overtime at overtime rates.
25.2 An employee may refuse to work overtime in circumstances where the working of such overtime would result in the employee working hours which are unreasonable having regard to:
25.2.1 any risk to employee health and safety;
25.2.2 the employee's personal circumstances including any family responsibilities;
25.2.3 the needs of the workplace or enterprise;
25.2.4 the notice (if any) given by the employer of the overtime and by the employee of his/her intention to refuse it;
25.2.5 any other relevant material.
25.3 Except as provided in clause 26 - Weekend work, all time worked in excess of or outside the ordinary hours of a day shift shall be paid for at the rate of time and a half for the first two hours and double time thereafter, Monday to Friday inclusive.
25.4 All overtime worked between midnight Friday and midnight Sunday shall be paid at the rate of double time as a maximum.
25.5 An employee called upon to work during recognised meal periods shall be paid overtime rates for all time so worked and such overtime shall continue to be paid until a meal break is allowed.
25.6 Employees recalled to work overtime after ceasing work for the day shall be paid for a minimum of three hours at overtime rates.
25.7 If an employee is so long on overtime duty that he/she has not had eight hours rest before his/her next regular starting time, he/she shall be allowed at least eight hours rest without deduction of pay or shall be paid at overtime rates for all time on duty until he/she has had at least eight hours rest, except for the purpose of effecting rotation of shifts.
25.8 Meal allowance
25.8.1 An employee required to work overtime for not less than 1.5 hours and who has not been notified the day before that he or she will be so required to work shall be paid the amount specified in 16.9 for the first meal and for each subsequent meal.
25.8.2 If any such employee so notified has provided a meal or meals and is not required to work overtime, he or she shall be paid as above prescribed for any meal or meals so provided.
25.8.3 When an employee is required to work overtime after the usual ceasing time for the day for one and a half hours or more he or she shall be allowed to take, without deduction of pay, a crib time not exceeding twenty minutes duration immediately after such ceasing time. Then after each four hours on overtime he or she shall be allowed to take, without deduction of pay, a further crib time of twenty minutes duration.
