AP822300 - Milk Treatment and Distribution Employees (A.C.T.) Award 2003

APPENDIX 2 - PROPERLY FIXED MINIMUM RATES

A. Identifying the key classification

The Packaged milk semi-trailer driver classification specified in the award also appears in the Transport Workers’ Award 1998 [Print Q8693 [AW799474]]. The Transport Workers’ Award 1998 [Print Q8693 [AW799474]] was subject to the Item 51 Review by Senior Deputy President Harrison and the classification, through the internal relativity with Group 3, was given a relativity of 98% compared to the C 10 classification contained in the Metal, Engineering & Associated Industries Award 1998. This classification is be used as the key classification as outlined in the Paid Rates Supplementary Decision [Print S0105] for the properly fixed minimum rates process.

B. Calculating the internal relativities

The internal relativities for the classifications were calculated in the following manner from the wage rates specified for the Safety Net Adjustment, April 1991:

Wage rate per week prior to SNR increases x 100 = %

C. Calculating the new minimum rates

The internal relativity percentage is multiplied by $408.90 (98% of the trade rate in 1991{$417.20}) to provide a new base rate and the amounts afforded by Safety Net Wage decisions since 1991 are added.
