8. LABOUR FLEXIBILITY

8.1 For the purpose of increasing productivity and flexibility as well as enhancing career opportunities for employees, multi-skilling may extend by agreement between the employer and the accredited employee representative which may include a union representative to allow an employee to perform any work in an enterprise within the scope of their skills and competence.

8.2 Discussion shall take place at the enterprise with a view to reaching agreement for employees to perform a wider range of clerical/administrative tasks, removal of demarcation barriers and participation of employees in additional training.

8.3 Notwithstanding the provision of 8.2 hereof, employees shall perform a wider range of duties within the scope of their skills and competence, including work which is incidental or peripheral to their main tasks or function, without loss of pay.

8.4 Employees shall perform such work as is reasonable and lawfully required of them by the employer including accepting instruction from authorised personnel.
