An employee required to be absent from work on jury service shall have their pay made up to their ordinary rate of pay. The employee shall receive the difference between payment received from the sheriff’s department for jury service and their ordinary rate of pay. Employees are required to notify the salaries disbursing office of any such absence and may elect to pay that office the amount received from the sheriff’s department and receive their normal pay, or alternatively may elect to retain the amount received from the sheriff’s department and notify the salaries disbursing office of such amount so that the actual difference may be paid.
