9. DEFINITIONS

Whenever the following words or expressions are used in this award, they shall have the meaning set out in this clause:

9.1 An Apprentice is an employee indentured by the appropriate Australian, State or Territory body in a trade referred to in the definition of Woolworths Employee Grade 4. Apprentices are paid a percentage of the Woolworths Employee Grade 4 weekly rate.

9.2 The Central Shopping District means the portion of the municipality of the Corporation of the City of Adelaide that lies within the hundred of Adelaide.

9.3 A Junior employee is an employee under the age of 21. They are paid a percentage of the Woolworths Employee Grade 2 weekly rate.

9.4 The Metropolitan Shopping District means the portion of the metropolitan area that is not comprised in the Central Shopping District.

9.5 A Supervisor (without buying responsibility) (two - four employees, five - eight employees, or nine or more employees) is a person in charge of employees who directs the performance of their work and who is in turn responsible to the manager of the department.

9.6 Woolworths Employee Grade 1

Any employee engaged in all or any of the following classes of work:

Any employee engaged in all or any of the following classes of work:

9.8 Woolworths Employee Grade 3

Any employee engaged in all or any of the following classes of work:

9.9 Woolworths Employee Grade 4

Any employee engaged in all or any of the following classes of work:

9.9.1 tradesperson shall mean an employee who has successfully completed an apprenticeship in a trade or an employee who, in the opinion of the employer possesses an equivalent qualification and/or knowledge and/or experience in a trade, or an employee engaged to perform the work of a tradesperson.
