13.1 Apprentices
An indentured apprentice shall be paid the following percentages of the rate specified for a Grade 5 employee for the trade classification in which the apprentice is indentured.

13.2 Proportion of apprentices
13.2.1 The proportionate number of apprentices who may be employed by the employer shall be at least one to every one operative tradesperson of the same trade employed in such establishment.
13.2.2 In determining the relevant number of apprentices, those persons designated by the employer to be Bakehouse Managers shall be included in the calculation.
13.3 Indentures of apprenticeship
Indentures of apprenticeship shall be for a period of four years.
13.4 Adult apprentice training
13.4.1 Any adult person employed, classified and paid as a Baker who undertakes indentured apprentice training with the consent of the employer shall be paid at the rate specified for a Grade 1 employee whilst attending a recognised trade school and otherwise at the ordinary rate of pay specified for a Grade 4 employee.
13.4.2 Any adult person employed, classified and paid as a Grade 1 employee who undertakes indentured apprentice training with the consent of the employer shall continue to be classified and paid as a Grade 1 employee notwithstanding that the employee attends a recognised trade school as required.
