22.1 Meal breaks
22.1.1 An employee who works five ordinary hours or more on any day must receive an unpaid meal break of between 30 and 60 minutes duration.
22.1.2 No employee will be called upon to work more than five ordinary hours (exclusive of overtime) without a meal break. By mutual agreement, the break may be deferred until six ordinary hours have been worked.
22.1.3 The length of the meal break will be determined by mutual agreement with the employee or in the absence of such agreement, will be 60 minutes duration.
22.1.4 An employee will receive an additional unpaid meal break of between 30 and 60 minutes duration when they have worked a further five hours or more from the completion of the previous meal break.
22.1.5 A casual employee will receive meal breaks in accordance with those of a day worker or shift worker dependent upon when such breaks fall due.
22.2 Rest break
22.2.1 An employee will receive a paid rest break of ten minutes duration after working in excess of four hours.
22.2.2 An employee will be entitled to an additional paid rest break of ten minutes duration after working in excess of eight hours (exclusive of meal breaks).
22.2.3 There will be no entitlement to the additional rest break as described in 22.2.2 where an employee is rostered so that two meal breaks are taken in accordance with 22.1.
22.2.4 Subject to operational requirements, such rest breaks will be rostered at times which are mutually agreed to between the Company and the employee.
22.2.5 A casual employee will receive rest breaks in accordance with those of a day worker or shift worker dependent upon when such breaks fall due.
