29. BEREAVEMENT LEAVE

29.1 An employee, other than a casual, shall be entitled to a maximum of three working days leave without deduction of pay:

29.1.1 on each occasion of the death in Australia of the employee’s spouse, de facto spouse, father, mother, brother, sister, child, foster child, step child, foster parent, parent-in-law or grandparent; and

29.1.2 on each occasion the employee travels overseas in connection with the death outside Australia of one of the relatives specified in 29.1.1.

29.2 In the event of the death overseas of a relative specified in 29.1.1, an employee shall be entitled to one working day’s paid leave where he/she does not travel overseas in connection with this death.

29.3 A working day relates to the ordinary hours of work in any day or shift.

29.4 The Company may require the employee to provide satisfactory evidence of the death concerned.
