14. TYPES OF EMPLOYMENT

14.1 General

14.1.1 Employees under this award will be employed in one of the following categories:

14.1.1(a) full-time employment; or

14.1.1(b) part-time employment.

14.1.2 At the time of engagement the Company must inform each employee of the terms of their engagement and in particular whether they are to be full-time or part-time employees.

14.2 Full-time employees

14.3 Part-time employment

14.3.1 The Company may employ part-time employees in any classification in this award.

14.3.2 A part-time employee is an employee who:

14.3.2(a) works less than the full-time hours of 38 hours per week; and

14.3.2(b) has a regular pattern of hours of work; and

14.3.2(c) receives on a pro rata basis equivalent pay and award conditions to those of full-time employees who work in the classification concerned.

14.3.3 Before the commencement of part-time work, the Company and the part-time employee must agree in writing, on a regular pattern of work, specifying at least the hours worked each day, which days of the week the employee will work and the actual starting and finishing times each day.

14.3.4 Any agreed variation to the regular pattern of work must be recorded in writing.

14.3.5 The Company must roster a part-time employee for a minimum of four consecutive hours on any shift.

14.3.6 Part-time employees are ineligible for a rostered day off.

14.3.7 All time worked in excess of the hours agreed in hours per day in 14.3.3 will be overtime and paid for at the rates prescribed in clause 22 - Overtime.

14.3.8 Full-time employees will suffer no disadvantage through the introduction of part-time employment provisions. The Company will not convert full-time employees to part-time employment unless by individual agreement.
