19. FLIGHT DUTY PERIOD LIMITATIONS
19.1 Multi Sector operating flight duty periods
19.1.1 A flight attendant may be planned to a maximum of 14 hours operating flight duty.
19.1.2 In unplanned circumstances a flight attendant may be scheduled to extend his or her operating flight duty period to a maximum of 17 hours.
19.1.3 In unplanned circumstances an operating crew may, by majority decision of those affected by an extension, elect to extend its operating flight duty period to a maximum of 20 hours.
19.1.4 A flight attendant must not be planned to operate more than 3 sectors in any one flight duty period if the operating flight duty element exceeds 11 hours.
19.2 Single sector operating flight duty periods
19.2.1 A flight attendant may be planned to a maximum of 17 hours operating flight duty.
19.2.2 In unplanned circumstances a flight attendant may be scheduled to extend his or her operating flight duty period to a maximum of 20 hours.
19.3 Combination operating and deadheading flight duty periods
19.3.1 If the last sector of a flight duty period is operating flight duty, 19.1 applies.
19.3.2 If the last sector of a flight duty period is deadheading flight duty:
19.3.2(a) A flight attendant may be planned to a maximum of 18 hours flight duty into his or her base at the completion of a pattern provided that if the total flight duty period exceeds 14 hours the operating flight duty element must not exceed 14 hours.
19.3.2(b) A flight attendant may be planned to a maximum of 15 hours flight duty to a port other than his or her base provided that if the total flight duty period exceeds 14 hours the operating flight duty element must not exceed 12 hours.
19.3.2(c) In unplanned circumstances a flight attendant may be scheduled to extend his or her flight duty period to a maximum of 20 hours provided that the operating flight duty element must not exceed 15 hours.
19.4 Deadheading flight duty periods
19.4.1 A flight attendant may be planned to a maximum of 24 hours deadheading flight duty.
19.4.2 A flight attendant may be planned to exceed 24 hours deadheading flight duty in order to replace a flight attendant unfit to operate.
19.5 Variation of flight duty periods
19.5.1 Flight duty period limitations may be varied in circumstances as agreed between the parties and/or the affected flight attendants.
19.5.2 In compassionate circumstances a flight attendant, with the agreement of the Company, may elect to exceed the flight duty period limitations outlined in 19.1 and 19.4.
19.6 Measurement of flight duty periods
19.6.1 A flight attendant's planned flight duty period will begin at the Company required reporting time and will end 30 minutes after the planned arrival time on blocks of the last flight within the duty period.
19.6.2 A flight attendant's actual flight duty period will begin at the actual reporting time, or the Company required reporting time, whichever is the later, and will end 30 minutes after the actual arrival time on blocks of the last flight within the duty period, or such later time as may be determined by the Company in consultation with the designated operating Customer Service Manager(Level 4 Flight Attendant).
