The provisions of this clause apply to full-time and regular part-time employees (on a pro rata basis) but do not apply to casual employees. The entitlements of casual employees are set out in clause 13.6.
28.1 A permanent employee shall on the death of a member of their immediate family as defined in clause 27 – Family leave, be entitled to two days bereavement leave without loss of pay on any occasion on which a member of the employee’s immediate family or household in Australia dies.
28.2 Payment in respect of bereavement leave is to be made only where the employee would have been on duty and shall not apply where it coincides with any other period of leave.
28.3 Proof of such death shall be furnished by the employee to the satisfaction of the employer.
28.4 This clause does not apply to casual employees.
28.5 Employees other than a casual are entitled to take up to two days unpaid bereavement leave.
