16. JUNIORS

16.1 The minimum rate to be paid to junior employees is as follows:

16.1.1 under nineteen years of age:

70% of the total wage payable to an adult for the class of work performed in the area in which it is performed.
16.1.2 nineteen years and under twenty years of age:

80% of the total wage payable to an adult for the class of work performed in the area in which it is performed.
16.1.3 twenty years of age:

the full rate payable to an adult employee for the class of work performed in the area in which it is performed.

16.2 No junior under eighteen years of age shall be permitted to have sole charge of a motor vehicle.
16.3 Where a junior employee aged eighteen years or more is required to drive a motor vehicle and is in sole charge thereof, he/she shall be paid the adult rate assigned to the class of driving work that he/she is required to perform.
