PART 4 - REMUNERATION 

16. HIGHER OR LOWER DUTIES

16.1 Any employee performing work for four hours or more in any day on duties carrying a higher prescribed rate of wage than that in which the employee is engaged, shall be paid the higher wage for the full day, provided that where an employee is engaged for less than four hours on any day on duties carrying a higher rate, the employee shall be paid the higher rate for four hours.

16.2 Any employee who is temporarily required to perform duties carrying a lower prescribed rate of wage, shall do so without any loss of pay.

16.3 The employer may direct any employee to carry out such duties as are within the limits of an employee’s skill, competence and training.
