21. OCCUPATIONAL SUPERANNUATION

Note: The Superannuation Legislation Amendment (Choice of Superannuation Funds) Act 2005 provides that individual employees generally have the opportunity to choose their own superannuation funds. For further information see the AIRC guidance note—Choice of Superannuation Funds and Award Provisions.

21.1 The employer shall make occupational superannuation contributions in accordance with the provisions of the Superannuation Guarantee (Administration) Act.

21.2 The parties to this award consider REST (Retail Employees Superannuation Trust) to be the preferred fund, however final fund selection shall be made in accordance with the provisions of the above Act.

21.3 Contributions by the employer to an approved fund, selected in accordance with the provisions of this paragraph shall be made monthly unless the terms of the relevant Trust Deed provide for contributions at alternative intervals.
