11.3 The rates of pay in this award include the arbitrated safety net adjustment payable under the Wages and Allowances Review 2008. This arbitrated safety net adjustment may be offset against any equivalent amount in rates of pay received by employees whose wages and conditions of employment are regulated by this award which are above the wage rates prescribed in the award. Such above-award payments include wages payable pursuant to certified agreements, currently operating enterprise flexibility agreements, Australian workplace agreements, award variations to give effect to enterprise agreements and overaward arrangements. Absorption which is contrary to the terms of an agreement is not required.

11.4 Disability allowance

An employee required to:

11.4.1 Load or unload containers shall be paid an amount of 65 cents per hour while so engaged.

11.4.2 Work in the cool room shall be paid an amount of $13.80 per week, or 37 cents per hour.

11.5 Classifications

11.5.1 Storeworker grade I

11.5.1(a) Points of entry

11.5.1(b) Skills and duties

11.5.1(b)(i) Responsible for the quality of their own work subject to detailed direction.

11.5.1(b)(ii) Works in a team environment and/or under routine supervision.

11.5.1(b)(iii) Undertakes duties in a safe and responsible manner.

11.5.1(b)(iv) Exercises discretion within their level of skills and training.

11.5.1(b)(v) Possesses basic interpersonal and communication skills.

11.5.1(b)(vi) Indicative of the tasks which an employee at this level may perform are the following:

11.5.1(c) Promotional criteria

An employee remains at this level until they are capable of effectively performing through assessment or appropriate certification the tasks required of this function so as to enable them to progress to the next level as a position becomes available.

11.5.2 Storeworker grade II

11.5.2(a) Points of entry

11.5.2(b) Skills and duties

11.5.2(b)(i) Able to understand detailed instructions and work from procedures.

11.5.2(b)(ii) Able to coordinate work in a team environment under limited supervision.

11.5.2(b)(iii) Responsible for quality of their own work.

11.5.2(b)(iv) Possesses sound interpersonal and communication skills.

11.5.2(b)(v) Indicative of the tasks which an employee at this level may perform are the following:

11.5.2(c) Promotional criteria

An employee remains at this level until they are capable of effectively performing through assessment or appropriate certification the tasks required of this function so as to enable them to progress to the next level as a position becomes available.

11.5.3 Storeworker grade III

11.5.3(a) Points of entry

11.5.3(b) Skills and duties

11.5.3(b)(i) Understands and is responsible for quality control standards.

11.5.3(b)(ii) Possesses an advanced level of interpersonal and communication skills.

11.5.3(b)(iii) Competent keyboard skills.

11.5.3(b)(iv) Sound working knowledge of all warehousing/stores duties performed at levels below this grade, exercises discretion within scope of this grade.

11.5.3(b)(v) May perform work requiring minimal supervision either individually or in a team environment.

11.5.3(b)(vi) Indicative of the tasks which an employee at this level may perform are the following:

11.5.3(c) Promotional criteria

An employee remains at this level until they are capable of effectively performing, through assessment or appropriate certification, the tasks required of this function so as to enable them to progress to the next level as a position becomes available.

11.5.4 Storeworker grade IV

11.5.4(a) Points of entry

11.5.4(b) Skills and duties

11.5.4(b)(i) Implements quality control techniques and procedures.

11.5.4(b)(ii) Understands and is responsible for a warehouse or a large section of a warehouse.

11.5.4(b)(iii) Highly developed level of interpersonal and communications skills.

11.5.4(b)(iv) Ability to supervise and provide direction and guidance to other employees including the ability to assist in the provision of on-the-job training and induction.

11.5.4(b)(v) Exercises discretion within the scope of this grade.

11.5.4(b)(vi) Exercises skills attained through the successful completion of an appropriate warehousing certificate.

11.5.4(b)(vii) Indicative of the tasks which an employee at this level may perform are the following:

11.5.5 Employees in the above groups are to perform a wider range of duties within the new broadbanded classifications including work which is incidental or peripheral to their main tasks or functions.

11.5.6 Subject to agreement at enterprise level, employees are to undertake training for the wider range of duties and for access to higher classifications.

11.5.7 The parties will not create barriers to advancement of employees within the award or through access to training.

11.5.8 No employee shall have their wage rate reduced due to the deletion of leading hand rates from this award.
