Help for Farm Hands:
If you have been laid off, face redundancy or are looking for work in a
drought affected area, Centrelink may be able to help you by providing:
- streamlined assessment of your claim for Newstart
Allowance or Youth
Allowance;
- flexible participation requirements, including reduced job search
requirements (depending on the amount of work available in your area);
- immediate access to Job Matching services;
- early access to Job Search Training (if you are eligible for Newstart or
Youth Allowance); and
- access to Drought Force - an extension of the Work for the Dole programme
aimed specifically at providing assistance in communities severely hit by the
drought.
For more information:
- visit your nearest Centrelink Customer Service Centre or call 13 2850; or
- telephone the Drought Force hotline on FreeCALL™ 1800 004 226;
