1985 Adoption Leave Case

The Australian Conciliation and Arbitration Commission adopts a test case standard for leave sought by parents adopting a child. Such parents are entitled to up to 52 weeks unpaid leave where a child has not attained the age of 5 years, and the female employee in question has been in continuous service with an employer for not less than 12 months immediately preceding the date leave begins.
