A suggestion made by Justice Geoffrey Giudice in 2002 was the genesis of the Oral History Program, a significant part of the activities of the Sir Richard Kirby Archives.

Early interviewees were former Vice President Tony McIntyre, Deputy Presidents Judith Cohen and Michael Kirby and former Commissioner Pauline Griffin. In addition to departing members, subsequent interviews have included former and departing registrars and staff, and senior figures in the industrial relations community such as Mr George Polites AC CMG MBE.

The objective of the program is for the tribunal to promote the capture of information and experiences that otherwise are often lost.

Brief excerpts from some of these early interviews have been included in the exhibition, and include the Honourable Geoffrey Giudice, the Honourable Michael Kirby and others.
