An enterprise agreement has the terms and conditions of employment for the people it covers. There are several types. We assess agreements to ensure they meet the requirements. They do not take effect unless we approve them.
Introduction
Content
The main types of agreements we can approve are:
- single enterprise agreements – where one or more related employers and 2 or more employees can make an agreement
- multi-enterprise agreements – where 2 or more employers and 2 or more employees can make an agreement
- greenfields agreements – where new enterprises that do not yet have employees can make an agreement.
The employer or employees may choose representatives to help them through the process.
Our role is to deal with disputes about agreements and approve applications if they meet the requirements under the Fair Work Act 2009.
