(1) Each employer shall keep a time and wages book showing the name of each employee and the nature of that employee's work, the hours worked each day and the wages and allowances paid each week. Any system of automatic recording by means of machines shall be deemed to comply with this provision to the extent of the information recorded.
(2) The time and wages record shall be open for the inspection of a duly accredited official of the union, during the usual office hours at the employer's office or other mutually convenient place, and such official shall be at liberty to take extracts therefrom. Before exercising a power of inspection the representative shall give reasonable notice of not less than 24 hours to the employer. If for any reason the record be not available at the office or other mutually convenient place it shall be made available for inspection within twelve hours either at the employer's office or other mutually convenient place.
