PART 4 - EMPLOYMENT RELATIONSHIP AND RELATED ARRANGEMENTS
14. EMPLOYEE AND EMPLOYER DUTIES
14.1 Employees must undertake duties as directed within the limits of their skills, competence and training which will include cross-utilisation and working down as directed. This includes the application of mechanical and avionic skill flexibilities (as defined). Some specific examples are as follows:
14.1.1 A tradesperson, who holds the appropriate grade/level whilst continuing to be employed in the parent trade family, is required to exercise the appropriate skill flexibilities;
14.1.2 The flexibilities are intended to ensure that skills are efficiently utilised in order to provide continuous working and, wherever possible, allow completion of the entire job function;
14.1.3 The scope of relevant flexibility would be dependent upon the skill level and training of the tradesperson performing that function;
14.1.4 A tradesperson will be required to assist, if agreed, those job functions affecting his/her immediate work area;
14.1.5 All existing skill flexibilities in operation prior to this award will continue and will be deemed as incorporated in this award;
14.1.6 Skill flexibility training and assessment by competency testing will be accredited by TAFE or certified by the appropriate company training organisation in order to provide recognition and confidence to the appropriate certifying/supervising personnel;
14.1.7 The individual(s) performing any task, or portion of a task, must ensure appropriate records are raised to enable the subsequent complete certification to be accomplished by appropriately licensed aircraft maintenance engineers or approved holders as required by Air Navigation Regulations and Orders or equivalent authority.
