20. HOURS OF WORK

20.1 The ordinary hours of work for each employee must be stipulated pursuant to clause 9 on engagement or fixed-term renewal.

20.2 Ordinary hours

20.2.1 Ordinary hours are defined as those hours worked continually, except for meal breaks, on any or all of the days from Monday to Friday (inclusive) between 8.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m.

20.2.2 Notwithstanding clause 20.2.1, an employee may be required to work until 8.00 p.m. up to a maximum of 8 weekdays within a 28 day period without an entitlement to overtime provided that the ordinary hours worked do not exceed the number of hours within the nominated cycle.

20.3 The ordinary hours of work for a full-time employee can not exceed an average of 38 hours per week to be worked on one of the following bases:

20.4 Where agreed, and only as part of a 28 day work cycle, a full-time employee is entitled to accrue one rostered day off during that work cycle, which must be taken within that cycle.

20.5 Rest Periods

An employee can not be required to work more than 5 consecutive hours without a rest period of at least 30 minutes which is unpaid and does not count as time worked.
