24.1 A full-time employee is entitled to 114 hours (equivalent to 15 days) paid sick leave for each year of service credited 12 months in advance.
24.2 Entitlements to sick leave are cumulative.
24.3 Where a public holiday to which an employee is entitled falls during a period when an employee is on sick leave, no deduction is to be made for that day from the employee's sick leave credits.
24.4 For a period exceeding 3 days continuous absence an employee must furnish a certificate from one of the following registered practitioners:
or a statutory declaration by the employee must be accepted as proof of illness.
24.5 In any calendar year an employee is limited to taking an aggregate of 5 days paid sick leave without producing proof of illness as required by clause 24.4.
24.6 A maximum of 114 hours sick leave credits accumulated with a past employer who is a respondent to this award can be transferred, so long as the break in service is not greater than 12 months, to the new employer.
