29.1 An employee who submits satisfactory evidence that he is the father of, or has accepted ongoing care of a child is entitled to:
29.1.1 following 12 months or more continuous service with the employer, leave on full pay for 5 consecutive working days or for a period which in aggregate does not exceed 5 working days, or
29.1.2 with less than 12 months continuous service with the employer, unpaid leave for 5 consecutive working days or for a period which in aggregate does not exceed 5 working days.
29.1.2(a) Such leave must be taken within the period commencing in the week prior to the expected date of birth of the child and concluding 6 weeks after the birth of the child.
29.2 Where the father is the primary care giver he is entitled to such unpaid leave as will bring the aggregate leave to a continuous period of up to 52 weeks not extending beyond the first birthday of the child.
29.3 Any leave of absence taken pursuant to clause 29 must not be considered as a break in service for any purpose.
