15. CONFERENCE, TRAINING AND STUDY LEAVE

15.1 Any teacher may, with the prior approval of the employer and for the purposes of furthering his or her professional qualifications and development or for the benefit of the college and for the purpose of facilitating progress of a teacher through the classification structure presented by this award, attend conferences, training courses and seminars during normal working hours, without loss of pay.

15.2 Any teacher shall be entitled to leave with pay on the day to attend examinations in courses of study approved by the employer and undertaken for the purposes set out in 15.1. A teacher shall also be granted leave without pay for the purpose of attending any compulsory residential school which is a part of such course.
