26.1 The ordinary hours of work shall average 38 per week and shall not exceed 152 hours in 28 consecutive days. For the purposes of this clause the ordinary hours of a shift shall not exceed eight consecutive hours. The ordinary hours of the shift shall not exceed nine consecutive hours.
26.2 Shift work may be worked on any day of the week.
26.3 Twenty minutes shall be allowed to shift workers each shift for crib, which shall be counted as time worked.
26.4 Shift workers shall be paid ordinary rates for normal shift work between midnight Sunday and midnight of the next ensuing Friday, time and a half for all normal shifts worked between midnight Friday and midnight on the next ensuing Saturday and double time for all work performed between Saturday and midnight on the next ensuing Sunday.
26.5 Where shift workers are called upon to work on a holiday as part of the normal shift, such employees shall receive an additional day off as annual leave in lieu thereof.
26.6 If an employee on shift work or night work or on any other weekly work is not informed before he/she leaves the job at the end of this shift or night or week that he/she is not required to work at his/her next shift or night or week and such employee attends the next shift or on the next night or week and no work is available for him/her or given to him/her, he/she shall be paid the ordinary wages for the shift or night or week not worked.
26.7 Where employees are engaged on shift work, the respective minimum rate of wages specified by this agreement shall be increased by 10% per shift, excepting in the case of Saturday and Sunday shifts which shall be paid for as provided in 26.4.
26.8 All time worked beyond the ordinary rostered shift hours except on Saturdays or Sundays shall be paid for at the rate of time and a half for the first two hours and double time thereafter. For all time worked beyond the ordinary rostered shift hours between midnight Friday and midnight Sunday payment shall be made at the rate of double time.
26.9 In addition to the annual leave hereinbefore prescribed, seven-day shift workers, that is employees who are rostered to work regularly on Sundays and holidays, shall be allowed seven consecutive days annual leave including non-working days. Leave loading will apply.
26.10 Where an employee with twelve months’ continuous service is engaged for part of the twelve monthly period as a seven-day shift worker, they shall be entitled to have the period of annual leave hereinbefore prescribed increased by one half a day for each month they are continuously engaged as aforesaid.
