7. RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHER INDUSTRIAL INSTRUMENTS

7.1 In this clause an amalgamation agreement means an agreement between an institution and the union party to this award or a branch of the union, relating to the transfer of academic staff to another institution in any of the following circumstances:

7.1.1 the amalgamation of two or more existing institutions of higher education to form a new institution;

7.1.2 the incorporation or amalgamation of all or part of an existing institution or institutions into another institution;

7.1.3 the reconstitution of an existing institution so that it attains the status of a university or a university college.

7.2 Where any term in an amalgamation agreement entered into after 1 January 1988 is inconsistent with a term in this award then to the extent of any inconsistency the terms of this award will not apply.
