9. NOTICE OF TERMINATION

9.1 The University will give at least four months notice, in writing, of its intention not to confirm an appointment at the end of a probationary period except that, with the agreement of the employee concerned, a shorter period of notice may apply.

9.2 Payment may be made in lieu of any or all of the required period of notice of termination of an appointment for reasons other than retirement.

9.3 An employee shall give at least four months' notice, in writing, of resignation, provided that, in special cases, the University may accept a shorter period of notice.

9.4 Notice of termination of continuing academic staff will be in accordance with the University and Post Compulsory Academic Conditions Award 1999.
