17.1 Salaries and allowances will be paid fortnightly, monthly or twice monthly. Employees paid on a weekly basis as at the commencement of this award may elect to continue to be paid weekly. Payment will be made during working hours and not later in the week than Thursday on dates convenient to the individual employers.
17.2 Salaries and allowances will be paid by electronic funds transfer into a bank account nominated by the employee. In the event of a failure in the banking system causing late lodgement of payment of salary to an employee’s bank account, payment will be made by cash or cheque in accordance with arrangements made locally.
17.3 Payment for overtime worked within the week immediately prior to payday need not be made until the next succeeding payday.
17.4 On or prior to payday, the employer will state to each employee, in writing, the amount of salary due, the amount of any deductions and the net amount paid to him/her.
17.5 On termination of employment, salary and allowances due to an employee will be paid to him/her on the day of such termination, or forwarded to him/her by post on the next working day.
17.6 Where salaries and/or allowances are stated on an annual basis, the annual rate will be divided by 52 to arrive at the weekly rate; by 26 to arrive at the fortnightly rate and in each case, expressing the resultant figures to the nearest ten cents, any fraction of ten cents not exceeding five cents to be disregarded.
