18.1 Queensland
18.1.1 For the purposes of this subclause, Queensland will be divided into Divisions and Districts as follows:
18.1.1(a) Southern Division - Eastern District - that portion of the State bounded by a line commencing at the junction of the eastern coast and the Queensland-New South Wales border, then north along the sea coast to 22 degrees of south latitude, then by that line of latitude west to 147 degrees of east longitude, then by that line of longitude south to 25 degrees south latitude, then by that line of latitude east to 150 degrees of east longitude, then by that line of longitude south to the southern border of the State, then along the southern border to the point of commencement.
18.1.1(b) Southern Division - Western District - that portion of the State south of the line 22 degrees 30 minutes south latitude which is not included in the Southern Division - Eastern District.
18.1.1(c) Mackay Division - that portion of the State bounded by a line commencing at the junction of the eastern coast and 22 degrees of south latitude, then north along the sea coast to 21 degrees south latitude then west along that line of latitude to 147 degrees east longitude, then south along that line of longitude to 22 degrees south latitude, then east along that line of latitude to the point of commencement.
18.1.1(d) Northern Division - Eastern District - that portion of the State bounded by a line commencing at the junction of the eastern coast and 21 degrees of south latitude, then north along the coast to 144 degrees 30 minutes east longitude then along that line of longitude to 22 degrees 30 minutes south latitude, then along that line of latitude to 147 degrees east longitude, then along that line of longitude north to 21 degrees south latitude, then along that line of latitude east to the point of commencement.
18.1.1(e) Northern Division - Western District - that portion of the State north of 22 degrees 30 minutes south latitude not included in the Northern Division - Eastern District.
18.1.2 The following additional payments will be paid to adult employees working in the Divisions or Districts of the State as prescribed in this award other than the Southern Division - Eastern District as follows:

18.1.3 The allowances prescribed in this subclause will be varied to give effect to any new standard adopted by the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission.
18.2 Western Australia
18.2.1 In addition to the appropriate classification rate of pay prescribed in clause 15 - Minimum Rates of Pay - a married employee working in each specified town or location will be paid the appropriate location allowance adopted by the Western Australian Industrial Commission at the date of operation of this award.
18.2.2 Except as provided in 18.2.4, a single employee will be paid 50% of the appropriate allowance prescribed in 18.2.1.
18.2.3 An employee, whose spouse is employed by the same employer, and who receives an allowance of a similar kind to that prescribed by this subclause, will be paid 50% of the appropriate allowance prescribed in 18.2.1.
18.2.4 Where an employee is provided with board and lodging by his/her employer, free of charge, such employee will be paid 33-1/3% of the appropriate allowance prescribed in 18.2.1.
18.2.5 A junior employee, a casual employee and/or a part-time employee receiving less than the adult rate and an employee employed for less than a full week will receive that proportion of the location allowance that the proportion that his/her rate of pay for ordinary hours that week is to the adult rate in Grade 4.
18.2.6 Where an employee is on annual leave or receives payment in lieu of annual leave, he/she will be paid for the period of such leave the location allowance to which he/she would ordinarily be entitled.
18.2.7 An employee on long service leave or other approved leave with pay (other than annual leave) will only be paid a location allowance for the period of such leave he/she remains in the location in which he/she is employed.
18.2.8 For the purpose of this subclause a married employee includes:
18.2.8(a) a person who has a de facto spouse; and
18.2.8(b) a person who is a sole parent with dependant children.
18.2.9 The allowances prescribed in 18.2.1 will be varied to give effect to any new standard adopted by the Western Australian Industrial Commission.
18.3 Transport and location allowance

In addition to the appropriate rate prescribed in clause 15 - Minimum Rates of Pay, an employee at a terminal, refinery, depot and airport will be paid a transport and location allowance at the rate of $16.70 per week. This allowance will not be taken into account for the purpose of calculation of overtime, shift premiums or other award prescriptions.
18.4 First aid allowance

18.4.1 An employee holding a current first aid qualification from St. John Ambulance, or similar body, and appointed by his/her employer to perform first aid duty will be paid, in addition to his/her wages, an allowance of $17.35 for any week he/she is so appointed.
