Award simplification.

PREAMBLE

In terms of the Item 51 process and as a result of privatisation of utilities and other changes such as alternative industrial regulation, the parties requested the Commission to make two separate awards as part of the simplification process. The first award will apply to private transport operators. The second will apply to remaining Victorian Government instrumentalities and public hospitals.

The two new awards will be titled:

1. the Metal Industry (Victorian Public Hospitals and Public Transport) Award 2002, and
2. the Metal Trades Grades (Tramways Victoria) Award 2002.

ORDER

A. Further to the decision issued by the Commission on 16 November 2001 [PR911269], the Commission makes the following new award:
