23. SUNDAY AND HOLIDAY WORK

23.1 A day clerical employee shall be paid at the rate of double time for work undertaken on Sundays and double time and one-half for work undertaken on holidays, such double or double time and one-half, as the case may be, to continue until the employee is relieved from duty.

23.2 Compensation for clerical shift workers for normal rostered shifts on Sundays and holidays is provided for in the shift loadings set out in 17.2.

23.3 A shift worker required to work on a Sunday or a holiday, other than on a rostered shift, shall be paid at the rate of double time for work undertaken on Sundays and at the rate of double time and one-half for work on holidays with a minimum payment of four hours.

Provided that this minimum payment shall not apply where such work is continuous with work commenced on the previous day or shift or completed on the following day or shift. However, where work continues over two days the minimum payment shall be for four hours at the appropriate rate.

23.4 The term holiday refers to the holidays specified in clause 25 – Holidays.
