17.1 First aid

Where PFO appoints a qualified employee to perform first aid duties, they shall be entitled to an additional daily allowance of $1.71, payable to a maximum six starts in any week.
17.2 Reimbursement for travelling expenses and transport of employees
17.2.1 Where an employee is temporarily transferred from one facility to another, they shall be entitled to the following:
17.2.1(a) any additional fare costs for using public transport; or

17.2.1(b) any additional cost for private mileage, calculated on the basis of:
17.2.1(b)(i) 57 cents per kilometre for vehicles of over 2000cc; and
17.2.1(b)(ii) 52 cents per kilometre for vehicles of up to 2000cc;
17.2.1(c) payment of additional travelling time at the ordinary time earnings rate except on Sundays and public holidays when payment shall be at time and a half provided that such payments shall cease when the employee has been permanently transferred to the facility.
17.2.2 Where an employee agrees to use their private vehicle on PFO business, the allowances detailed in clause 17.2.1(b) above shall apply.
17.2.3 Where an employee works additional hours beyond their rostered shift without having been provided with either 24 hours notice or notice before the completion of the previous shift, and they are unable to obtain their regular form of transport home, PFO shall arrange at its own cost, an alternative safe form of transport for the employee.
17.3 District
17.3.1 The following district allowances shall be paid in addition to the rates prescribed in clause 14 - Classification, rates of pay and superannuation.

17.3.2 The provisions of the General Order of the Western Australian Industrial Relations Commission with respect to location allowances shall apply to the employees engaged under the terms of this award in locations specified in that General Order.
17.4 Meals
17.4.1 Where an employee is required to work overtime either before or after their normal commencement or ceasing time they shall be entitled to an unpaid meal break of 20 minutes duration when more than 1.5 hours overtime has been worked.
Provided that:
17.4.1(a) an employee required to work overtime after a rostered shift of five hours, or after completing five hours since their last meal break, shall be entitled to an unpaid meal break of between 30 and 60 minutes prior to commencing overtime; and
17.4.1(b) no employee shall work more than five hours without receiving a meal break.
17.4.2 Where an employee and manager mutually agree, the employee may elect to work through their unpaid break and finish earlier. In the event of an employee working through a meal break that employee shall not forfeit any entitlement to a meal allowance which would have been payable had they not agreed to work through their meal break.
17.4.3 An employee required to work overtime after a rostered shift of five hours or after completing five hours since their last meal break and who is entitled to an unpaid break of between 30 and 60 minutes prior to commencing such overtime, shall not be entitled to a meal allowance for this break.

17.4.4 Where an employee is rostered to work an additional shift as overtime and it continues for more than five hours, the employee shall be entitled to a meal allowance of $10.27 and an unpaid meal break of between 30 and 60 minutes duration.
17.4.5 An employee shall not be entitled to payment of a meal allowance as detailed in clause 17.4.2 or clause 17.4.3 above, if they have received 24 hours notice or have been notified prior to completion of their previous shift of the requirement to work such overtime.

17.4.6 Where an employee has been requested to work overtime as previously outlined and is subsequently advised that such overtime is not required, the employee shall be entitled to payment of $10.27.
17.5 In charge allowance

Where employees are required to regularly supervise other employees (other than on a full-time basis) or, alternately, to act in charge of other employees for one week’s duration or more, they shall be entitled to the following additional weekly allowance, to be paid on a pro-rata hourly basis:

17.6 Dairy/freezer room

An employee whose primary function is working in a dairy room, or in the handling or loading of goods into or out of freezer rooms or freezer cabinets, shall be paid an allowance of $8.45 per week to be pro rated for part-time or casual employees.
17.7 Laundering
17.7.1 Where PFO requires an employee to wear a uniform then PFO shall reimburse the employee for the cost of purchasing such clothing and the cost of replacement items, when replacement is due to normal wear and tear. This provision shall not apply where the clothing is supplied and/or paid for by PFO.
17.7.2 Where an employee is required to launder any uniform, the employee shall be paid as stipulated below for the relevant state:

17.7.2(a) garments requiring ironing:
17.7.2(a)(i) $8.19 per week for full-time employees;
17.7.2(a)(ii) $2.73 per uniform for part-time and casual employees to a maximum of $8.19 per week.

17.7.2(b) garments not requiring ironing:
17.7.2(b)(i) $4.73 per week for full time employees;
17.7.2(b)(ii) $1.57 per uniform for part-time and casual employees to a maximum of $4.73 per week.
17.8 Protective clothing
Where it is agreed that the work required to be performed by an employee may lead to excessive soiling or damage to clothing, PFO must reimburse the employee for the costs incurred in purchasing the suitable protective clothing and any necessary laundering cost incurred by the employee. This clause shall not apply where suitable protective clothing is provided and laundered at PFO’s cost. Where such protective clothing and/or accessories have been provided to an employee they shall be required to use such clothing and/or accessories at all times.
