17.1 LAME GRADE I means a LAME who is employed on Aircraft Maintenance, who has completed the Company LAME Induction Course and who holds ratings on Group 1 or 2 Aircraft/Engines and is required to carry out skill flexibility appropriate to his/her area of duty;
OR
A LAME Radio who is employed on Aircraft Maintenance, who has completed the Company LAME Induction Course and who holds a basic licence with ratings covering Groups 1, 2, 3 and 4 and is required to carry out skill flexibility appropriate to his/her area of duty.
17.2 LAME GRADE II means a LAME who is employed on Aircraft Maintenance, who has completed the Company LAME Induction Course and who holds ratings on Group 20/21, Aircraft/Engines and who is required to carry out skill flexibility appropriate to his/her area of duty;
OR
A LAME Radio who is employed on Aircraft Maintenance, who has completed the Company LAME Induction Course and who holds a basic licence with ratings covering Groups 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 and is required to carry out skill flexibility appropriate to his/her area of duty.
17.3 LAME GRADE III (Level A) means a LAME who is employed on Aircraft Maintenance, who has completed the Company LAME Induction Course who holds and exercises a Pre-Flight Authority in all categories on any of the following aircraft or engines which are maintained by the Company:
B747-200, B747-300, B747 SP, B747 COMBI, DC10, P&W JT9D ENGINE, RR RB211 ENGINE, F27, B727-200, B727-100, DC9, F28 and KINGAIR.
OR
Who holds ratings on the above Group 20/21, Aircraft/Engines which are maintained by the Company.
Grade III LAMEs are required to carry out skill flexibility appropriate to his/her area of duty and train other LAMEs in any or all of these duties.
A LAME Radio Grade II who has completed the Company LAME Induction Course who holds and exercises a Pre-Flight Authority in all categories on any of the following aircraft or engines which are maintained by the Company:
B747-200, B747-300, B747 SP, B747 COMBI, DC10, P&W JT9D ENGINE, RR RB211 ENGINE, F27, B727-200, B727-100, DC9, F28 and KINGAIR.
OR
Who holds a basic licence with ratings covering Groups 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9 and 10 which are maintained by the Company.
Grade III LAMEs are required to carry out skill flexibility appropriate to his/her area of duty and train other LAMEs in any or all of these duties.
17.4 LAME GRADE III (Level B) means a LAME who is employed on Aircraft Maintenance, who has completed the Company LAME Induction Course who holds and exercises a Pre-Flight Authority in all categories on any of the following aircraft/engines which are maintained by the Company:
B767-200, B767-300, B747-400, A300, B737-300 and B737-400.
OR
Who holds ratings on the above Group 20/21 Aircraft/Engines which are maintained by the Company.
Grade III LAMEs are required to carry out skill flexibility appropriate to his/her area of duty and train other LAMEs in any or all of these duties.

17.5 Senior LAME (II) means a LAME who supervises the work of other Senior LAMEs or is deemed to have additional responsibilities.
17.6 Supervising Licensed Engineer - Grade 1 (Domestic) means a person working in Heavy Maintenance Melbourne, who is responsible to the Supervising Licensed Engineer - Grade 2 for the observance of all procedures and requirements to of the Aircraft Maintenance Department by all personnel delegated to their control.
This shall include co-ordination of work in all sections or subsections delegated, so as to ensure maximum efficiency from personnel and maximum serviceability of aircraft.
17.7 Supervising Licensed Engineer - Grade 2 (Domestic) means a person who is responsible to a Maintenance Manager for the shift management and observance of all procedures and requirements of the Aircraft Maintenance Department by all staff under their control.
This includes co-ordination of all sections so as to obtain maximum efficiency from personnel and maximum serviceability of aircraft for which that shift is responsible.
17.8 Station Engineer (Domestic) means a person in charge of the engineering base at Cairns or Perth who is responsible to a Maintenance Manager for the shift management and observance of all procedures and requirements of the Aircraft Maintenance Department by all staff under their control.
This includes co-ordination of all sections so as to obtain maximum efficiency from personnel and maximum serviceability of aircraft for which that shift is responsible.
