PART 6 – TYPES OF LEAVE AND PUBLIC HOLIDAYS
29. ANNUAL LEAVE
29.1 Period of leave
29.1.1 A full-time employee under this award is entitled to a period of 28 consecutive days leave, including non-working days, (i.e. four weeks) after each twelve months service (less the period of annual leave) with TransAdelaide.
29.1.2 For administrative ease the entitlements in 29.1.1 or 29.2 are converted to an hourly entitlement (i.e. 152/150 hours or 190 hours respectively for a full-time employee).
29.1.3 Leave will be accrued to 30 June of each year and will on 1 July be credited to the employee’s annual leave entitlement.

29.1.4 To assist employees in balancing their work and family commitments:
29.1.4(a) an employee may elect, with the consent of the employer, to accrue and carry forward any amount of annual leave for a maximum of two years from the date the employee becomes entitled to the leave.
29.1.4(b) an employee may elect, with the consent of their employer, to take annual leave in single days, up to a maximum of 10 single days in any year.
29.2 Additional leave for seven day shift workers
29.2.1 In addition to leave provided for in 29.1.1, seven day shift workers, that is shift workers who are rostered to work regularly on Sundays and public holidays, will be allowed seven consecutive days leave including non-working days.
29.2.2 Where an employee with twelve months continuous service is engaged for part of the twelve monthly period as a seven day shift worker, that employee is entitled to have the period of leave prescribed in 29.1.1 increased by half a day for each month he or she is continuously engaged as a seven day shift worker to a maximum of five additional paid days leave.
29.3 Loading on annual leave
29.3.1 During a period of annual leave an employee will receive a loading calculated on the ordinary base rate of pay.
29.3.2 The loading will be as follows:
29.3.2(a) day workers - employees who would have worked on day work if they had not been on leave - a loading of 17.5%;
29.3.2(b) shift workers - employees who would have worked on shift work had they not been on leave - a loading of 20%;
29.3.2(c) leave loading will be paid on completed months of service;
29.3.2(d) the above loading will be subject to the ceiling imposed by the Public Service (Recreation leave loading) Award as varied, amended or substituted from time to time.
