18. FARES, TRAVELLING EXPENSES AND TRAVELLING TIME

18.1 If an employee is directed to work at a place other than the usual place of employment, all fares necessarily incurred each day in excess of the normal fares of travelling from home to the usual place of work and return shall be reimbursed by the employer.

18.2 If an employee is directed to work at a place other than the usual place of employment, all time occupied by the employee in any travelling which is in excess of the time normally occupied in travelling when working at the usual place of employment, shall be deemed to be working time and shall be paid for at the appropriate rate of pay.

18.3 An employee directed to work at a place away from the usual place of work which involves sleeping away from the usual place of residence shall be reimbursed all reasonable expenses incurred.

18.4 If an employee is directed by the Employer to an altered permanent locality of work which necessitates the employee changing place of residence, the Employer shall arrange and reimburse the cost for travelling and transport of the employee, family and effects from the employee’s place of residence to the new place of residence. Reimbursement or provision of temporary lodging up to two weeks shall be provided.
